No joke when I tell you these chapsticks literally stay on your lips and feel fresh for HOURS. They’re amazing. I came up with this recipe from combining this Coconut + Vanilla recipe, and this Homemade flavored chapstick recipe, and I’m really loving the results. If you want to know how to create your own, keep on reading!
For this recipe, you will need:
I ordered all the ingredients I didn’t already have off Amazon. You can grab the ones you need by clicking on the list above!
Let’s Get Started:
First, combine all the ingredients in a measuring container like the one pictured. The cocoa butter takes a minute to get out, but I found that kind of shaving it with the spoon worked really well.
To melt everything, I created a sort of double boiler system, but if you have one already, definitely use that instead! If you take a pot and fill it a bit with water, and then stick the measuring container inside, it works just fine. Heat it over the stove on medium heat, stirring occasionally. The beeswax takes a while to melt, so give it some time!
Once everything is melted together, it should be a pretty clear, yellow-tinted liquid. Pour it into the chapstick containers, stick them in the fridge to cool, and then you’re all done!
